A 21st Century Reformation: It Will be Supernatural & Missional

"A 21st-century reformation will demand reinserting the supernatural into the heart of Christianity. This will result not only in a sounder biblical theology but also a more powerful missional church. The world will then understand what Jesus meant when he said, 'But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you'"(Matt. 12:28, ESV). ~Hwa Yung, Bishop of the Methodist Church of Malaysia, Lausanne World Pulse
According to Bible, the end times will be marked by widespread deception, counterfeit miracles, and the appearance of false prophets. Each of these evils will contribute to an atmosphere that will deceive an untold number of people throughout the world. Almost 2,000 years ago, Jesus warned us about this time period:
"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

In a world evangelism plan founded by Billy Graham, the Lausanne Movement, whose goals are similar to that of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals, has expanded worldwide. As an overview of how far-reaching this movement is, as well as the players, watch this video:

The intimate association between the evangelism of the Lausanne Movement and the Emergent Church is witnessed by Christianity Today. This magazine was founded by Billy Graham and friends in 1956 as a mouthpiece for the Evangelical movement. Today it is a mouthpiece for the New Age Emergent Church.

The opening quote by Hwa Yung was taken from the Christianity Today website. He is a minister of the United Methodist Church, and he has authored several articles. In this video, he shares his vision for the future and what it will take to "transform" the Church in Asia. It is important to note some of the New Age words he uses in his video, such as syncretism and dynanism; and in his articles from the transformation journal. The form of Christianity that is being spread by Hwa Yung and the Lausanne Movement is Emergent Church New Age spirituality.

It is great to see conversions being made around the world, but how many of them are genuine? If their converts are being fed with a counterfeit Christianity, won't their conversion be counterfeit as well?

We are warned that some of those who "cast our demons and do any wonderful works" will be told "I never knew you." Jesus listed the "weightier matters" and the "new commandment" as mercy, faith,  justice (dealing righteous judgment), and love - not supernaturalism. We do not find the Apostle Paul being preoccupied with the supernatural gifts, but with holy living, sound doctrine, avoidance of pagan influence, and false ideologies and doctrines.

The bottom line is that Billy Graham is preparing the world, through the Lausanne Movement for the New Age christ - who is the Antichrist. The question I have is, "Will he live long enough to see the fruits of his labor?"
