Rick Joyner: Founding Fathers were Dominionists

The same person who wonders why Christian folks and unbelievers are concerned  about his form of dominionism.

(RightWingWatch) Rick Joyner of The Oak Initiative and MorningStar Ministries dedicated yesterday’s edition of Prophetic Perspectives to distancing himself from dominion theology while discussing the ties between presidential candidates like Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann to avowed dominionists. Joyner said he agreed with much of the dominionist objective of having fundamentalist Christians influence — if not control — government and society at large, but noted that he does not share dominionists’ belief that such ‘dominion’ will usher in the End Times and the Second Coming of Christ. “I just don’t believe His dominion can come to the earth until He comes,” Joyner said, “and that’s the one defining point of a dominonist to me.”

As Sarah Leslie of the Discernment Research Group points out, Joyner once said that the “Kingdom of God” he hopes to build “may seem like totalitarianism” at first because “the kingdom will start out necessarily authoritative in many ways, or in many areas, but will move toward increasing liberty” once the culture is radically changed.

But Joyner pointed to one group who he claims did subscribe to dominion theology: the Founding Fathers. According to Joyner, the Founders would have been known as dominionists because they wanted to “establish a government that was built on biblical principles” and “really thought they were building the Kingdom of God.” He went on to blame dominion theology for Manifest Destiny and other “really foul things” in U.S. history. Joyner mentioned that secular reporters are increasingly studying dominionism and are “terrified by it and they’re wondering if this presidential candidate is influenced by this kind of thinking,” adding, “as a Christian, I would be alarmed by some of that.”

My Comments

The Reality of It All
Our Founding Fathers were not all Christians, rather there was a strong influence of believers during that time in history. The Declaration of Independence and the American War of Independence was a mixture of Christianity and "Enlightenment" thinking of French and English philosophers of the 1700s. The Enlightenment faith, Deism, had a great influence on Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, who also believed in humanism and rationalism. 

Joyner wasn't telling the truth about the founders, but there is some truth in his statements about the Puritans -  who were Calvinists following a form of dominionism. The Puritans saw themselves as purifying their society and bringing it under God’s dominion. They felt that a pure society would follow the superior moral leadership of a true church with the help of a godly government. In fact, such a church and society were, in their minds, a necessary prerequisite for the Second Coming of Christ. The Calvinists would infiltrate the Congregational Churches of New England, the Presbyterians, and some Dutch Reformed churches.[2]

The seeds that John Calvin planted never died. The same dominionist beliefs John Calvin first introduced, and have remained in our country, are unknowingly being adopted by Christians today. Dominion Theology says that belivers should dominate every sphere of society. It has also been called Christian Reconstructionism, because it advocates the total reconstruction of society according to Biblical principles, or Theonomy,  because it seeks to impose God’s law on all of society.

Proponents of Dominion Theology or Reconstructionism believe that Christ will return to earth in His Second Coming after the Millennium. Some believe that we are currently in the Millennial age and that it is during this age that the Kingdom of God must be established on the earth.[3]

Did Calvin's social experiment work? 
The Protestant Reformation came along in the sixteenth century, led by Martin Luther and John Calvin - former Catholics. Luther’s views of Scripture, and of justification by faith, produced one of the greatest changes in Church history. Although Luther doesn't smell like a rose, he had a dualistic view of the Church, and therefore he was never inclined to push the Church toward the mission of transforming society.

John Calvin, on the other hand, taught that believers are responsible for social transformation, and his followers began to believe that they have a cultural mandate (the mandate to transform society) as well as an evangelistic one (the mandate to save souls). [1] Geneva became the "Rome" of Calvinism where "reformers" would go to learn the faith and spread it all across Europe. Calvin established a reign of theocratic terror in Genva, a government controlled by religious leaders. One of Calvin's most inspired students would be the Scotsman John Knox (1514-1572).

The one fact that escapes our generation is that John Calvin wasn't any better than the persecution the Pope was inflicting on Protestants during the Reformation. Anabaptists were fined, driven out, whipped, or hanged at the hands of Calvin's reformers, since their beliefs didn’t agree with those of the official church.

So, it is not an accident that Dominion Theology and Sharia Law find themselves creeping into our country at the same time the New World Order plans to make their radical transformation of our world. The unbiblical doctrines that find its root back to a dangerous man, and tries to conquer unwilling participants for the purpose of the supposed Kingdom of God. The Roman Catholics were the original dominion theologians. Is that who is standing in the background, waiting to take the reigns back?

Federal Appeals Court Considers Sharia Law

(ABC News) A federal appeals court in Denver is poised to hear arguments regarding the use of Sharia law in state court, a day after the somber ceremonies commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9-11.

A panel of judges from the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals will eventually decide whether a lower court judge was correct in blocking a 2010 ballot initiative forbidding Oklahoma courts from considering Islamic laws in the their decisions.

Sharia law is broadly defined as a body of law based on Islam and its central religious text, the Quran.

The ballot measure passed by a 70 percent margin but was immediately challenged by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The group argued the measure violates the Establishment Clause of the Constitution forbidding the government from favoring one religion over another. (Read article)

Obama lauds Indonesia as a model of religious tolerance

(CNN Belief Blog) Indonesia and the United States share principles of unity and tolerance and both can benefit from strengthened ties that will bolster trade and combat terrorism, President Obama said in a highly anticipated speech Wednesday.

As the nation with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia was chosen as the site for Obama to further address U.S. relations with the Islamic world following his speech on the topic last year in Cairo, Egypt.

I said then, and I will repeat now, that no single speech can eradicate years of mistrust," Obama said. At the same time, he promised that "no matter what setbacks may come, the United States is committed to human progress."

America "is not, and never will be, at war with Islam," Obama insisted. "Instead, all of us must defeat al Qaeda and its affiliates, who have no claim to be leaders of any religion - certainly not a great world religion like Islam."

A Closer Look
President Obama holds Indonesia as an example of religious tolerance, but neglected to tell you is that  Indonesia has a blasphemy law.

"Indonesia's Criminal Code forbids anyone from deliberately, in public, expressing feelings of hostility, hatred, or contempt against religions with the purpose of preventing others from adhering to any religion, and forbids anyone from disgracing a religion. The penalty for violating Article 156(a) is a maximum of five years imprisonment.The Muslim majority uses the Criminal Code, presidential decrees, and ministerial directives to persecute religious minorities and unorthodox sects. The persecution in Indonesia makes it a place of much discrimination, harassment, and violence." [1]

Louis Farrakahn & President Obama

 In the last post, Louis Farrakahn did an interview with Al Jazeera TV and made some critical claims about the actions of Pres. Obama. He said that the President is planting FBI agents in mosques to fan radical extremism (5:30 on counter of last post). He also claimed that Ron Paul and Neoconservatives are causing the anti-Islamic agenda taking place in the country today, so we will go to war with Iran (7:00 on counter of last post).

It turns out that Louis Farrakahn and President Obama travel in the same social circles in Chicago. Although candidate Obama was reluctant to admit to a close assocation with Farrakahn during the election, the Nation of Islam leader believes Obama walks on water. In the following interview, shot in May 2010, Farrakahn sings the praises of Obama. I guess he forgot about the FBI agents being placed in mosques to make Islam look bad.

Pres. Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, gave Louis Farrakahn the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer Award.[1] Although Obama has said that he does not agree with everything his pastor has preached, he also doesn't agree with everything Farrakahn has said. Perhaps that is when Farrakahn said he is Jesus and Elijah. Farrakhan has said that the President was manipulated into disavowing Farrakhan.[1] This leads me to believe that they share a private friendship.

In March 2010, Farrakahn said the "white right" was conspiring to make Mr. Obama a one-term president, and pointed to his stalled efforts to introduce health care legislation as proof. [2] I suspect his comment about Ron Paul and Neoconservatives is only a divisive false statement being used to make the white right look like agenda-bent extremists.

The Danger of Wahhabism

According to a New York Post article, and the video below, Wahhabism the openly nihilist brand embraced by terrorists,  is being promoted by Saudi money around the globe. It is a totalitarian ideology comparable to Nazism or, closer still, the "state Shintoism" of imperial Japan.

The article goes on to say that Saudi "Wahhabi" scholars feed the jihadist ideology, legitimizing an "extreme intolerance" toward non-Muslims, especially Jews, Christians and Hindus. In particular, the report from a NYPD noted that the "journey" of radicalization that produces homegrown jihadis often begins in a Wahhabi mosque. 

The term "Wahhabi" refers to the 18th century founder of this austere Islamic tradition, Muhammad bin Abdul al-Wahhab, who claimed inspiration from 14th century jurist Taqi al-Din Ahmad Ibn Taymiyyah.

At least two of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's books, a 2000 treatise on Islamic law and his 2004 "What's Right with Islam," laud the implementation of sharia -- including within America -- and the "rejuvenating" Islamic religious spirit of Ibn Taymiyyah (who was an advocate of Jihad) and al-Wahhab.

The mosque that is being built at Ground Zero is Wahhabi. According to Atlas Shrugs, Steve Emerson and his team of investigators has spent the past four weeks going through the newly found material. Imam Rauf is a “radical extremist cleric who cloaks himself in sheep’s clothing.” Emerson's team found Rauf: 1. Calling for the elimination of Israel by claiming a one-nation state, meaning no more Jewish State; Defending Bin Laden’s violence; Demonstrating that there is a lot more to this man than merely a cleric. Audiotapes have been found with Imam Rauf speaking radical language, and there is enough evidence to present a case against him. Emerson also said that 80% of the mosques being built in the United States are Wahhabi. (Bill Bennett radio program)

Louis Farrakhan and His Perspective

Farrakkan, from the Nation of Islam, says that Pres. Obama is planting agents from the FBI to fan radical extremism in mosques. Farrakkan lives in Chicago, one of the centers for extremism. He also claims that Ron Paul and Neo-Conservatives are causing some of the Islamophobia taking place in the country today, so we will go to war with Iran. Has Farrakkan accepted money from Saudi Wahhabi supporters? There are some who believe he has.

Ground Zero Distraction

On the Corbett Report, the video discloses that New York "Imam" Faisal Abdul Rauf,  is a CFR member and that his Cordoba Initiative and the American Society for Muslim Advancement are at least partly funded by the 'new world disorder' including the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers, Rockefeller Philanthropy, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Kneeling Before Holy Jihad

(FrontPageMag) Led by the National Council of Churches (NCC), the Religious Left is backing the proposed Ground Zero Islamic Center while denouncing the mosque’s skeptics as “hateful.”

Revealingly, the statement endorsed by 40 religious “leaders” is relatively narrowly comprised of top NCC officials, left-wing Catholics, Muslim groups, and mostly second-tier Jewish groups, plus J Street. Missing are the usual Mainline Protestant clerics, Eastern Orthodox, and prominent liberal Jews typically found on NCC-organized political blasts.  No prominent evangelicals are on the list.

The interfaith enthusiasts for the mosque chimed:

As Catholic, evangelical, mainline Protestant, Jewish and Muslim leaders and scholars committed to religious freedom and inter-religious cooperation, we are deeply troubled by the xenophobia and religious bigotry that has characterized some of the opposition to a proposed Islamic center and mosque near where the World Trade Center towers once stood.

Sharia Law & Catholic Canon Law - Part 2

According to Wikipedia, Sharia, meaning "way" or "path," refers to the sacred law of Islam. All Muslims believe Sharia is God's law, but they have differences between themselves as to exactly what it entails. Modernists, traditionalists and fundamentalists all hold different views of Sharia, as do adherents to different schools of Islamic thought and scholarship. Different countries and cultures have varying interpretations of Sharia, as well.

The Sharia extends beyond what Westerners consider law. Sharia deals with many topics addressed by secular law, including crime, politics and economics, as well as personal matters such as sexuality, hygiene, diet, prayer and fasting, dietary matters, games, marriage and divorce, customs and behavior, and dress codes. It is applied by Islamic judges. [1]

Canon law is the body of laws and regulations made by or adopted by ecclesiastical authority, for the government of the Christian organization and its members. It is the internal ecclesiastical law governing the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox churches, and the Anglican Communion of churches. The way that such church law is legislated, interpreted and at times adjudicated varies widely among these three bodies of churches. In all three traditions, a canon was initially a rule adopted by an early ecumenical council; these canons formed the foundation of canon law.

In the Orthodox Church, these laws are to be obeyed rather than to be treated as guidelines, since they are essential for the Church's unity. However under other mainline U.S. denominations, they still function under their own private systems of canon law. Each establishes its own system of church order and discipline. [2]

At the heart of the American legal system, it is fundamentally different than that of Muslim countries. Since we have separation of church and state, we are considered a secular state. However, a theocracy is a form of government in which a God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, such as Muslim countries and their legal system.

Canon Law Unleashed
In a Socialist or Communist country, a state religion (or established church) is religious body officially endorsed by the state. In some jurisdictions, this means that they operate legal systems of their own or play a part in the legal system of those governments. Canon is one such sort of legal system; it was administered in ecclesiastical courts. Unlike courts of common law tradition, ecclesiastical tribunals do not follow the adversarial system. Based on the same Roman civil law that is behind much European law, the procedure of a canonical court is more akin to the inquisitorial system, with the judges leading the investigation. [3] 

There is also a difference between a "state church" and "state religion." A "state church" is created by the state, as in the cases of the Anglican Church, created by Henry VIII. An example of "state religion" is Argentina's acceptance of Roman Catholicism as its religion. In the case of the state church, the state has absolute control over the church, but in the case of the state religion, the Vatican has control over the church. As for the final one-world religion, I suggest that it will be a state church. [4]

The Archbishop of Canterbury's decision to announce the feasibility of functioning under Sharia Law is radical, and it gets the wheels moving for government control of the one-world religion. Some may think that I'm blowing this out of perspective, but it is a foot in the door.

Sharia Law & Catholic Canon Law - Part 1

Yesterday I posted a compilation of YouTubes on Sharia Law and how it is affecting Great Britain, and how it could affect the legal system in the United States. While watching these news reports you may have noted that Sharia Law is being promoted by the Democrats. What does Sharia Law have to do with the one world religion?

Canon Law is the Christian counterpart to (Jewish) Halakha, Hindu Law, and Sharia Law. Concordats, an agreement between the pope and a government for the regulation of church affairs, through Roman Catholic version of Canon Law, to influence the lives of the Church. The Canon Law is sometimes called the "pontifical law," "sacred law" or divine law." They believe it is created for the well-being of souls. 

During the Concordat with Hitler:

"...the National Socialist regime’s acceptance of the Code of Canon Law, which the Vatican had enacted in 1917. The Code gave the Holy See control over the appointment of bishops and other prelates, and ensured that it had the final word in matters of Church policy and doctrine. The Code’s main architect, Eugenio Pacelli (later Pius XII), believed that its implementation was necessary to ensure the Church’s unity and survival in the twentieth century. According to John Cornwell, the main purpose of the Code was to enlarge the pope’s control of the Church, including his power to suppress dissent."  Edward Bell, Brescia University College, "Catholicism and Democracy: A Reconsideration"

Is it plausible that Sharia Law could be brought to the U.S.? Yes, the Fascist government that is being put in place can use Sharia Law as a means of control.
