What I am about to say may seem a little out there, but I think Pastor Joe Schimmel is onto something. In some manner, I believe the Word of Faith movement is one aspect of the end time deception that will help usher in the one world religion and the false christ. This is because our world spiritual ideas will have to merge into one first in order for the one world religion to lift up the leader of the world government. Consider the following:
1) How large the movement is at present;
2) The Faith ministries have the majority of television time on satellite stations such as: TBN, DayStar, and some others;
3) They have captured the hearts of many followers who are willing to listen to what they have to say and send them all their money; and
4) If the Word of Faith leaders say that the false christ is the true Christ - then they will follow them.
As I mentioned before, the Faith Movement is being mixed with the teachings of New Thought, Christian Science, and Gnosticism, but it is being wrapped in Christian language. The New Age Movement has a very similar background. Faith followers are being lured into position to drink the KoolAid of the next great move of God, but this move is not of the Most High God. They have forgotten that the great moves of God in the past have always led men into repentance for sin - not to be slain in the Spirit and chase miracles.
If the key Faith leaders are Freemasons, as seen by the evidence, then there is something seriously wrong! Freemasonry's main purpose is to bring about the world government by way of the one world religion. Satan is behind each step toward world government, and blinded Christians are being moved into position for more deception. Each believes they can identify the counterfeit Christ, but can we really?

Robert Schuller, another 33rd Degree Mason, said in 1987: "It's time for Protestants to go to the shepherd [the Pope] and say, "What do we have to do to come home?'" Schuller has been an advocate for the ecumenical movement for many years, and the true direction of the Church can be summed up in his question.
The Church is being placed into final position. God has His timetable for the Lord Jesus to return, but man (Masonry) can provide whatever alternative plan and deception he wants. We just need to be aware of the deception that is about to take place, and realize the Enemies plan involves prominent Christian leaders we may trust.
I will wrap up with this last statement and request. If you have been involved in a Word of Faith church, find the courage to leave. I didn't hear about their "we are gods" teaching until recently. Now that I look back at the time I spent under that pastor, the teaching was there but he never said it in those words. These churches are not what they appear to be. It may not be politically correct to criticize false teaching, but it is Biblical.
But the end of all things is at hand:
be ye therefore sober, and
watch unto prayer.
